Andrew Nguyen Presents His Work and Reflections in
Writing 2
"Are you ready to embark on a transformative journey of growth and discovery
Introduction
I'm Andrew Nguyen, a first-year Economics and Accounting student at UC Santa Barbara. My passion lies in finance and problem-solving, and I'm focused on building a skill set that combines academic theory with real-world applications. I'm working toward a career in wealth management, corporate finance, or entrepreneurship. Through my entrepreneurial venture, A+ Tints, I’ve gained hands-on experience managing financial operations and client relationships. Additionally, my role at In-N-Out has strengthened my teamwork and problem-solving skills. I thrive in dynamic environments and am always seeking opportunities to expand my knowledge in finance.
This portfolio is a reflection of my growth as a writer throughout Writing 2, where I have honed my writing, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Writing 2 has shown me that everything is connected. Before my first quarter at UCSB, I went on a trip to Disneyland with my girlfriend, where I felt a sense of skepticism, similar to how I felt before starting Writing 2. I wasn’t sure if the class would be like my AP Language and Literature classes or present new challenges. Like the Guardians of the Galaxy ride, the course had its twists and turns, but by the end, I gained a deeper understanding and was pleasantly surprised by what I learned.
